Holds a degree in Social Sciences from the Institute of Philosophy and Social Sciences at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1985), a Master’s in Sociology and Anthropology from the Institute of Philosophy and Social Sciences at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1996), and a Ph.D. in Social Sciences from the Institute of Philosophy and Humanities at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (2005). Currently, she is a professor in the Department of Social Sciences at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). She has experience in Sociology, with an emphasis on the Sociology of Culture and Art, focusing primarily on the following topics: sociological theory; perceptions and representations of art; identity, professionalization, and social memory; production and reception of artistic practices and mass communication.
