The group proposes to investigate aspects linked to the dynamics of the production of space, focusing on the issue of territory and territorialities and their consequences in the city and countryside. The proposed research is based on the study of the appropriation of space, of the landscape from socio-spatial groups, within a critical vision and based on the discussion of the right to the city and the context of socio-spatial inequalities, environmental racism and ethnic minorities.
To this extent, we are interested in studying methods, processes and projects that are within the decolonial perspective of Western thought, from a south-south perspective, as well as new approaches to the study of architecture and urbanism beyond traditional academic methods. To this extent, social and insurgent cartographies, as well as the perspectives of ethnographic studies and urban sociology become important for our investigations.
