PRUMO Journal #6 addresses the international humanitarian crisis, highlighting the increasing flow of migrations due to socioeconomic issues, conflicts, and disasters. While the topic of refuge and the accommodation of refugees has received attention in various fields, the journal emphasizes the lack of discussion on this issue within architecture and urbanism. With the theme “Exoduses and Migrations,” the publication aims to raise awareness among students and professionals about the importance of addressing space at various scales, from the territory to shelters. The journal includes narratives, interviews, testimonies, and articles from researchers, exploring perspectives on refuge in Brazil and other countries, criticizing accommodation models, legislation, public policies, and integration challenges in cities. The goal is to contribute to the reflection on the role of architects and urban planners in facing the humanitarian challenges of the 21st century, promoting the creation of more welcoming and receptive cities. The issue is dedicated to Nursen Nkini Manasa, a student from the Democratic Republic of Congo, who contributed his unique perspective on Kinshasa and passed away prematurely in September 2019. His images of the African city reflect his love for his country and the nostalgia for everything he left behind.
