Raphael Dias Martins de Paola

Professor

At PUC-Rio, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physics (1994) and a Master’s degree (1996), obtaining his PhD in the field of Quantum Field Theory from CBPF (2000). As a newly minted PhD, he spent a year at the Theoretical Physics Group at the Federal University of Itajubá. Interested in the philosophical foundations of physical concepts and theories, he withdrew from research at the University to dedicate himself to self-study in order to better understand the nature of Physics. Since then, he taught for eight years at the high school level and has been teaching in the Department of Physics at PUC-Rio since 2010.
