João Masao Kamita

Supervisor of the History and Theory Area

He holds a degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the State University of Londrina (1987), a Master’s in Social History of Culture from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1994), and a PhD in Architecture and Urbanism from the University of São Paulo (1999). Currently, he is an assistant professor in the Graduate Program in Social History of Culture, the undergraduate History program, and the Architecture and Urbanism program, all at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. His expertise lies in the field of Architecture and Urbanism, with emphasis on the History and Theory of Architecture and Urbanism, focusing primarily on modern and contemporary architecture, Brazilian architecture, and architecture and urbanism in Rio de Janeiro.
