PPGArq

PPGArq is currently in the process of developing a PhD program proposal based on the same founding principles as the original program, but expanding its research, extension, and training fields, recognizing its evolution over the years. The PhD program proposal is grounded in the intersection between theory and project practice (from a multi-scalar perspective) and the relationship between architecture and the urban environment, which guides the program’s studies and research. As with the Master’s program, the project, in its various dimensions and scales, will remain the core structure for research and critical reflection, strengthening social solidarity, especially through research projects with an extension focus developed by many of PPGArq’s permanent faculty members. This aspect represents a strong vocation of the program, aligning with PUC-Rio’s mission, not only declared in its Institutional Development Plan (PDI) but also supported institutionally by the Vice-Rectorate for Community Affairs and the Vice-Rectorate for Extension and Pedagogical Strategy.
