SERURBANO is an event organized by students for students. Held annually since 2006 until before the pandemic, the event explores different thematic axes within architecture over the course of a week, with each year having a main theme common to all. Thus, lectures, workshops, talks, and other free activities are held, always seeking to bring current discussions and topics from the world of architecture and urbanism to the students.
In the 2023 edition, the theme is “There are lights in the penumbra.” Its construction is strongly influenced by a search, a longing, for the investigation of a third world, located between the applause of the sunset and complete darkness. Between the blinding, flooding light and the surviving glow of stars and fireflies. The penumbra is a space between strong light and complete darkness, a place full of forgotten themes that can add to our society.
This year, SERURBANO aims to explore this space and focus on all these forgotten themes, the fireflies, that have been left in the shadows.
