Architecture and
Urbanism Department PUC-Rio

Welcome to DAU PUC-Rio!

The Architecture and Urbanism Department (DAU) at PUC-Rio was established in 2015 by the Architecture and Urbanism Program, standing out as a center of excellence dedicated to the training of highly qualified, innovative, and collaborative professionals at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

It boasts a renowned faculty and an interdisciplinary pedagogical approach, reinforced by the proximity of different areas of knowledge promoted by the integrated university campus. Additionally, its major differential is the encouragement of a culture of collaboration and creativity, where students are encouraged to explore various artistic expressions and share different perspectives, especially in the integrated design studios.

DAU Infrastructure

DAU also offers a wide and comprehensive infrastructure, including a digital fabrication laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art technology, an experimental construction site with a variety of tools and materials, and a library with renowned works in the field of architecture and urbanism, thus providing a conducive environment for the development of students creative and technical skills.

Social and Environmental Responsibility

Committed to sustainability and social responsibility, DAU PUC-Rio seeks to train professionals capable of conceiving architectural and urban spaces that not only meet aesthetic demands but also promote environmentally conscious and socially responsible solutions. This is achieved through classroom instruction, but also through practical experience and extracurricular activities such as workshops, study trips, field visits, academic events, and the Architecture Model Office itself.
