NOZ Magazine #1

Binding desires, questions, criticisms. The initiative to make an architectural magazine appeared, more than one path, a necessity. The first edition of Noz adopted as a starting point four major sessions: 'Anarchitecture' debates the real-estate issue and its consequences; 'Zoom' proposes a discussion from a geographical point of view of the city; 'Noise' comes from the subjectivity involved in city life; 'Rearview Mirror' cover limits the intervention of the architect and the relationship with the a priori.

The magazine NOZ was created in 2007 by a group of students of architecture and urbanism at PUC-Rio and involved faculty and professionals from various fields of knowledge, gathering in every issue articles, interviews, projects and tests.

In an interdisciplinary way, but having the architecture as the guideline, the magazine offers a critical reflection on the urban reality and the practice of the profession. Alongside the publications were promoted several events with the intention of broadening the discussion around the issues raised in the four editions of NOZ.

The NOZ was developed by Barbara Cutlak, Caio Calafate, Flaksman Catarina, Juliana Sicuro, Marina Piquet, Miguel Del Castilho and Vitor Garcez while students in CAU PUC-Rio.
